Two Sided
Water colour paper, water colour paint and pencil
2021
For my final piece, my inspiration was Fred Tomaselli, one of his art works that I decided to look at was called ‘hang over’. In his painting he did a tree with a black background but the tree that he painted had chains of different objects, I thought that this piece of artwork was really cool and detailed. With the inspiration of his painting I decided to a similar thing. For my painting I decided to do a tree in three different boxes, the meaning behind my painting was that there’s two different sides of someone, they have a happy side but also deep down they could be going through something that people won’t necessarily know about. The reason why I chose this meaning is because of personal experiences where I put a smile on face but behind the smile I was struggling. My painting was on watercolour paper, and the materials that I used was watercolour paint, pencil, and paint brushes. I decided to call my artwork ‘two sided’ because of the meaning that it had behind it.
The reason why I decided to use water colour paint is because I really like how easy it is to blend the colours together. I also like how easy water colour is to use.
